HomeShare St. Croix is a community based nonprofit organization, goverenered by a volunteer board of directors representing area community leaders. Our goal is to maintain independence by facilitating matches between homeowners and homeseekers who are willing to exchange non-medical services for affordable housing.
STEPS TO MAKE A MATCH:
1. Call for a homeowner/homeseeker application.
2. Return the completed application.
3. Set up an interview to discuss your situation and match preferences.
4. Agree to a criminal background check and three personal reference checks.
5. Homeowners will also agree to an in-home assessment.
6. Meet and interview candidates.
7. Choose a candidate, set up a HomeShare agreement and enter into the 30-day match trial period.
8. Experience homesharing for 30 days, finalize the match with HomeShare staff.
